From the Commander’s Desk

Welcome to Northwest DuPage American Legion Post 1084 web site. We are a very active American Legion Post supporting Veterans and Veteran organizations. Here, you will find up to date information about our activities, volunteer work at Cpt. James A. Lovell North Chicago and Hines Hospitals and our community. This web site is a valuable source of Post 1084 information for our members, as well as a welcoming invitation to non-members that may be interested in joining our family. If you have an interest in any type of Veteran’s activities, an interest in helping the community, camaraderie with people, and social activities, this is where you want to be!  Please look at the links on this home page for a listing of the major groups and activities that Post 1084 supports. This is just a starter list; there are many additional activities and events that take place throughout the year.

Post 1084 is a very active Veteran’s service organization that includes a very strong Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion, American Legion Riders and Shooting Sports clubs. All of the clubs are active along with the Post Members in support of veterans and the community.

We support our hospitalized Veterans by hosting events at both North Chicago and Hines Veterans Hospitals, including a summer picnic and a prime rib luncheon at North Chicago, monthly events to support the Fisher House and RCF units at Hines, a Thanksgiving dinner sponsored by the Elks Club of Elmhurst for Veterans from Hines at our Post; and visits to support and provide companionship to the Veterans in extended care facilities throughout the area.  In addition to the things we do for Veterans in need, the Post provides fellowship and comradeship to our members. We strive to provide a hospitable and welcoming atmosphere for all visitors. Please visit us at our home, 344 East Maple Avenue, Roselle, Illinois 60172.

Northwest DuPage Post 1084 was founded in Roselle in 1946. We have always been fortunate in having caring, active, dedicated members capable of doing all sorts of tasks for the betterment of veterans and the community. With the help of present and future members who may be joining this distinguished Post, we WILL continue this strong tradition.
