Shooters Club Mission Statement 2025

The shooting club was founded many years ago by Past Post Commander, Dan Hendrickson. Today we carry on the traditions brought forward with the commitment and camaraderie of its members; we have built the shooting club to what it is today.
The purpose of the Shooting Sports Club of Post 1084 is to provide our members with a fun and safe environment where every member can, individually or collectively, dedicate themselves to being a fine representative of the shooting community. Whether it’s sharpening skills for target shooting with a rifle or pistol, being an active collector or gunsmith, the shooting club welcomes all members, regardless of their skills. We will continue to provide a professional approach to shooting and camaraderie to all of its members, fostering new ideas, innovations and growth of membership.

Our club pistol shoot, the Practical Pistol Shoot, takes place on the first Tuesday of every month at the Article II gun range located at 250 Cortland Ave, Lombard, IL 60148.
Participants can shoot any type of pistol and participate in either the rimfire class (.22 ), or the centerfire class (any type of pistol which fires a centerfire primed case – .25 through .45 auto.)
On specific type of pistol events, e.g., All Revolver Shoot, All Concealed Carry Shoot, All Iron Sights Shoot, members must provide that type of pistol to be in the competition for the shoot. Non-compliant shooters can still shoot; their scores just aren't presented in the competitive scoring. They are listed as "others". Shooting has been starting lately at 5:30pm - 5:45pm and we wrap up about 8:00pm at night. This is a once-a-month participating members event.
We also shoot rifles at the Sycamore Sportsman’s Club in Sycamore, Illinois. These outdoor events run from April through September, usually the 3rd Saturday of that month. These events include a 50 yard scored event, and a 100 yard scored event as well as shooting at steel gong type targets at 100 yards and you are scored by hit or miss. We do serve a cooked hot dog lunch and supply water and soda beverages to all participants.

Shooting Sports meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 7:00pm.
New members are welcome!
